Pangasius exports during the first nine months of 2006

During the first nine months of 2006, Pangasius exports value reached US$600 million (increased by 127%) and the volume 197,670 metric tons (increased by 112%).

The largest market for Pangasius fish products is the EU with over US$ 241,099,000 in export value and over 87,000 MTs in volume. This market contributes 44% in total volume and 47.8% in total value. To compare with 2005, the EU market has grown by 145%. Follwoing the EU is Russia where 27,763 MTs of low-price Pangasius products were exported.

The other major export markets for Pangasius products are: Asean countries (21,108 MTs) and the US (15,484 MTs).
